Built in the 1800’s, this almost two century old one-room schoolhouse is now the home of the Tree of Life Christian Bookstore. Tree of Life carries new and used books, Bibles, study helps, music and videos, gifts, local crafts, and supplies for children, youth, and adult classes.
This out-of-the-way bookstore is centrally located in the heart of the North Country and welcomes you to its peaceful corner for reading pleasure and spiritual growth. Come by soon to visit, have a cup of coffee, find that special book, and get refreshed.

Tree of Life is situated in the middle of West Potsdam (formerly Mom’s Schoolhouse Diner) where County Routes 34 and 35 cross. It is approximately 5 miles from Potsdam, 8 miles from Canton, 6 miles from Norwood, and 20 miles from Massena or Ogdensburg.
Tree of Life Hours & Payment Methods
Open Wednesday - Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
We will be closed from December 29th until January 22nd for time to rest, refill, and refresh for 2020.
We gladly accept cash, check, or credit card.
Classes, Workshops & Singing
The next sing-along will be in March or April. Watch for updating. We are preparing a class on home/time management for women and a workshop for children using puppets to communicate and tell Bible stories. We'll post the information after the first of the year. Merry Christmas and Blessings for the New Year to you.
Receiving Used Books
Dick will receive used Christian books on the days we are open or by appointment. He will go through the books while you wait or shop. Our policy is to give a voucher to be used in the bookstore at your convenience and any books can be taken with you if Tree of Life is not able to use them. Thank you for wanting to recycle books for others to enjoy.
