Tree of Life desires in some measure to help with the fulfillment of Ephesians 4:12-13.  "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:  till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."

Welcome!

Built in the 1800’s, this almost two century old one-room schoolhouse is now the home of the Tree of Life Christian Bookstore. Tree of Life carries new and used books, Bibles, study helps, music and videos, gifts, local crafts, and supplies for children, youth, and adult classes.

This out-of-the-way bookstore is centrally located in the heart of the North Country and welcomes you to its peaceful corner for reading pleasure and spiritual growth. Come by soon to visit, find that special book, pray with us, and hopefully get refreshed.

Tree of Life is situated in the middle of West Potsdam (formerly Mom’s Schoolhouse Diner) where County Routes 34 and 35 cross. It is approximately 5 miles from Potsdam, 8 miles from Canton, 6 miles from Norwood, and 20 miles from Massena or Ogdensburg.

There are no special events scheduled at Tree of Life for the time being.  We appreciate your prayers, ideas, and interest in workshops.

Receiving Used Books

Dick will receive used Christian books on the days we are open or by appointment. He will go through the books while you wait or shop.  Our policy is to give a voucher to be used in the bookstore at your convenience and any books can be taken with you if Tree of Life is not able to use them. Thank you for wanting to recycle books for others to enjoy.

Owners

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.” 1 Peter 3:15

Dick and Sharon Bastille have opened the schoolhouse again but this time to encourage and inspire believers in their walk of faith. One of our favorite quotes is from Jesse Owens’ coach who said to Jesse, “if we walk long enough and talk long enough, maybe we’ll get to know one another.”

Shall we walk and talk together at the Tree of Life Christian Bookstore?

The photo at right was taken by Andy Van Dyne on our Grand Opening, April 12th!  Thank you, Andy.
